Thai Flowers: Lotus Buds & Orchid Blooms

Friend and fellow blogger Nicole of Thirdeyemom who I had the pleasure of taking on a whirlwind photographic tour of Antigua in Guatemala, my home town for five years, inspired me to publish a post on flowers of Thailand.

To brighten those last cold, bleak wintry days this is for you Nicole and for anyone else not lucky enough to rove where I do!

A random collection of luscious orchid, lotus, hibiscus and marigold blooms I’ve photographed from Phuket to Chiang Mai. Thai flowers that color everyday life here.

Earth laughs in flowers.  ~Ralph Waldo Emerson, “Hamatreya”

    • Happy to brighten your day and bring a smile to your face, Nicole!!! Cold, dull weather drags on forever sometimes so a good dose of nature at her most colorful is always a good tonic!! Here in Thailand of course I don’t have that problem!

      • Lucky girl! I am sure you got your share of gray living in the UK! 🙂 The sun is shining again and I saw a cardinal today! Not much longer….!

      • Definitely! That’s one reason why I don’t live there any more. Too depressing! Lack of sunshine really affects how I feel. Spring MUST be on its way to you now! 🙂

      • One thing that is funny is that it is really sunny here in the winter. It is just cold. But I’d rather have it zero with brilliant sun than warmer, gray and rain! 🙂

      • I agree! British winter is mostly grey and wet with little sunshine. If it was brighter I wouldn’t mind it being colder so much!
